Interfaith Family Services

The Interfaith Family Services of Ocean County is a non-profit, interfaith ministry committed to providing shelter, meals and assistance to homeless families. With our well-trained volunteers, we reach out with compassion and acceptance, providing help, hope and a safe haven for our guests while they seek permanent employment and affordable housing. We increase community awareness and advocate responsible solutions to homelessness.

The network of Ocean County churches provides a safe haven for families who have lost their homes and aids them in their search for affordable housing. St. Andrew UMC is one of the 12 host congregations who provide temporary housing and food until their search is successful. Additional congregations provide support for the host sites. The Network has a center in Toms River where family members can take showers and do laundry, as well as receive support services. If anyone is interested in learning more about IFS, please contact our IFS Coordinator, Sam Jones, through the church office.
