Fulfilled: Christ is the Center

Posted by Erik Hall on

For the next four weeks we will be taking a slightly different approach to the weekly blog. Together with our worship theme: ‘Fulfilled: The Church on Mission’, we will be reflecting on questions relating to the mission of the St. Andrew UMC:

Welcoming all to where Christ is the center, love is the answer, and serving is the mission

We are excited about our future! God has something BIG planned for St. Andrew! Together we need to discern and discover what God wants to do through us. Please consider sharing your feedback after you have prayerfully reflected on the following questions. You can reply on this blog entry, reply on this Facebook post, or you can hand in the devotional card you received during worship this past Sunday.

He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation; 16 for in him all things in heaven and on earth were created, things visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or powers—all things have been created through him and for him. 17 He himself is before all things, and in him all things hold together. 18 He is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, so that he might come to have first place in everything. 19 For in him all the fullness of God was pleased to dwell, 20 and through him God was pleased to reconcile to himself all things, whether on earth or in heaven, by making peace through the blood of his cross. (Col 1:15-20 NRSV)

When Christ is the center of our lives, our lives are centered. Nothing can happen by the power of the Holy Spirit unless we have faith and hope in Christ. Christ is the center of our lives and church…   we know him, and we are called to make him known.

What does a Christ-centered life look like? How is a Christ-centered life cultivated?

Who in our neighboring community needs to know Christ?

How can we make Christ known?

How can we reach (or reach better) the people in our community to make Christ known?
