Fulfilled- Welcoming All

Posted by Erik Hall on

For the next four weeks we will be taking a slightly different approach to the weekly blog. Together with our worship theme: ‘Fulfilled: The Church on Mission’, we will be reflecting on questions relating to the mission of the St. Andrew UMC:

Welcoming all to where Christ is the center, love is the answer, and serving is the mission

We are excited about our future! God has something BIG planned for St. Andrew! Together we need to discern and discover what God wants to do through us. Please consider sharing your feedback after you have prayerfully reflected on the following questions. You can reply on this blog entry, reply on this Facebook post, or you can hand in the devotional card you received during worship this past Sunday.

Welcoming All…

“Come to me, all you that are weary and are carrying heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me; for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-30 NRSV

At the heart of Jesus ministry is redemption. Welcoming people into the life of the church introduces them into the loving redemption of God in Christ.  We are a church ‘saved by grace’ and we welcome all who need saving.

What does it mean to welcome? Who did Jesus welcome into his life and ministry? Why? How can we become more like Jesus in our welcoming?

Who do we welcome well into St. Andrew UMC?

Who haven’t we intentionally welcomed into St. Andrew UMC?

Who needs to be welcomed (or welcomed more) into St. Andrew UMC?
