What does it mean to say, “I’m blessed”?

We say this when describing the things for which we are grateful. I can truly say that I am blessed to be here at St. Andrew.

It’s a whole different thing, however, when we say, “You are blessed.” When we tell others they are blessed, we are giving them something. For example, when someone needs a new perspective on their lives, "you’re blessed” might just be the thing they need to hear. Jesus gave us a whole list of gifts by which we are blessed, but at first glance they seem anything but blessings! What is Jesus talking about? The answer may surprise you.
