A Note From Pastor Anna

We have some exciting news! The building will be open for worship on September 13. Worship times and locations will be the same as they were before Covid-19. There will be some clear rules to ensure safety for all, including registering for worship ahead of time so we do not go beyond a safe capacity. Details will be available soon. The online worship service will continue, and will remain a steadfast part of our worship services from here forward. Whether in person or from home, we will continue to gather in praise and worship to our Lord and Savior!

Great news!!! YES Club and MYF will begin meeting again on September 16 from 5:30-7:30pm. It will be so great to be back together again! We have to be careful about social distancing, so be sure to wear a mask and prepare to be 6 ft. apart. Adults, we would love your help. Are you able to hand out food with gloved hands? Let Pastor Anna know. Are you feeling called to be a youth leader? Let pastor Anna know. Let’s work together as we keep our vows made at our youth’s baptisms. We vowed to bring them up in faith. And all God’s promise-keeping children said, “Amen!”

This week I am thinking about our brothers and sisters in Cuba and in the Gulf of Mexico as they struggle with the aftermath of two powerful storms. Flooded streets and buildings, wind-ravished power lines and structures leave many in despair. We must pray for them all.

It’s interesting to see that our scripture for Sunday talks about floods and homes built on hard ground vs. homes built on soft ground. Jesus was, of course speaking metaphorically. He certainly was not condemning those suffering after the storms.

In his metaphor, Jesus compares a wise man who built his house on a rock with a foolish man who built his house on soft ground. When rains came, said Jesus, the strongest house was the one built on the rock. Jesus is talking about our faith, not our homes. What does he mean? Tune in Sunday to find out!
