May MISSION PRAYER
This month we ask for your prayers for the Tanzania United Methodist Church. Our covenant missionary, Kabaka N. Alphonsine and her husband, Rev. Mutwale, who are missionaries in Tanzania, are asking for prayers for the work of the United Methodist Church in Tanzania, and for financial resources to continue the Tanzania United Methodist Church Annual Conference Complex in Dar es Salaam, which St. Andrew UMC has been supporting over the past seven years. Please pray that God will strengthen the church in Tanzania with help in the area of leadership formation, especially so that pastors are trained and church members are instructed in church doctrine and God’s word; in the area of women’s development programs; in the area of youth and children Christian training and education programs; in the area of music outreach, especially the evangelistic work of the Jerusalem Choir, part of the Dar es Salaam First UMC, who are in need of specific musical instruments (Keyboard, Mixer, Guitars, drums); and in the area of transportation, so that critical support of churches in the countryside may continue. We ask God also for generous financial support from United Methodist churches in the U.S., and especially from churches in our Greater New Jersey Conference. Please also lift up in prayer our GNJ Bishop John Schol, who will be traveling to Tanzania in early June with several Conference leaders to lead a pastor training (over 150 pastors) and assist with their Annual Conference. Thank you for your generous prayer support of the church in Tanzania!
