Tanzania United Methodist Church Annual Conference Complex Update: May 2018

St. Andrew UMC has had the privilege of being one of the supporting churches providing financial assistance for the United Methodist Church Complex in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.  We recently learned the wonderful news that the Guest House and Reception building on the Tanzania UMC Annual Conference Complex has been completed, except for the electrical and water hook-ups (expected to be completed soon)!  The separate Kitchen building has also been built!  The plan is for the Tanzania UMC 2018 Annual Conference to be held at the site, including the Guest House building inaugural ceremony!

In Greater New Jersey, we are very excited about the growing connection between our Conference and the Tanzania United Methodist Church.  Our Bishop John Schol has connected with Bishop Muyombo and Rev.  Mutwale.  Bishop Schol will be traveling to Tanzania in early June with several Conference leaders to lead a pastor training (over 150 pastors) and assist with their Annual Conference.  At our GNJ Annual Conference this month, May 2018, we will be voting on the Miracles Everywhere Campaign which includes a global component – Tanzania!  The goal would be to raise $500,000 for the Tanzania United Methodist Church to help build the next phase of construction: the clinic and a school; and provide funds for our young clergy to go there for an immersive mission experience.

Thank you, St. Andrew UMC, for your generous financial and prayer support of the Tanzania United Methodist Church over the past seven years!  With your continued generosity, we hope to be part of the ongoing projects in Tanzania.  For more information about the Tanzania UMC and our St. Andrew connection, please contact Missions Coordinator, Lucy DeBarge, through the church office.
